Wolfpack Sailors Named to ICSA All-Academic Team

Cambridge, MA (September 13, 2018) – Two NC State sailors were named to the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) 2017-18 All-Academic Sailing Team. The All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes collegiate sailors who have achieved excellence in national and inter-conference competition as well as excelling at the highest academic level for the 2017-18 academic year.

Veteran SailPack crew Katie Richardson (Senior, Chemical Engineering, Chapel Hill, NC) and skipper Adam Augustine (Senior, Mechanical Engineering, Winston-Salem, NC) are the latest Wolfpack sailors to be receive national recognition for their accomplishments on the water and in the classroom.

The criteria for the honorees are that he or she must be a Junior or Senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university sponsored regattas. A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors. Matt Lindblad, co-head coach of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is the committee chair. This year’s All-Academic Team is comprised of 238 members.
