"We are really excited to host this event and to be able to contribute to the growth of Women's college sailing in our conference and in Raleigh," said NC State Women's Team co-captain Kara Wheeler (Soph., Oriental, NC). "In our third year with the Women's program, we've seen exciting growth and participation. Hosting this regatta is another great way to showcase this, and reward our sailors for hard work."

Opening Ceremony and the Skippers' Meeting will take place at 9:30AM on Saturday morning at the Lake Wheeler Waterfront Program Center. Students, spectators including the general public, and special guests are invited to attend the event and enjoy the breakfast provided, view the opening ceremony, and experience college dinghy racing with great shore-side viewing. The Lake will be open to the public, so additional opportunities to get on the water will be available and spectator boats are welcomed, too.

"We could not put on a great event like this alone. We rely on the support of our presenting sponsor, TrustAtlantic Bank. Together with help from the Preiss Company, Kind Snacks, and our partnership with the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources, we are able to ensure NC State's Women's sailing program flourishes and college sailing has a stage in Raleigh," said NC State head coach Dana Magliola.

This year's event has a special event poster designed by NC State's own graphic designer Eric Flood. Check out this work below and look for it around Raleigh!

Racing will commence directly after the opening ceremony and continue through the afternoon Saturday until 4PM, as well as during the day Sunday beginning at 9:30AM. Transportation will be provided from campus for students on Saturday, or join us at Lake Wheeler on your own. Consider carpooling to reduce our overall environmental impact, too.
